A Plane Ride - With Dad Flying It!

Image
Napolean Hill once said "It takes half of your life before you discover your life is a do-it-yourself project." So once my dad, decided to do a DIY project - by  flying a plane! We went to a place where you could fly a light aircraft (I don't know what it's called). I went along with my camera because I knew there would be amazing photo ops! Here's a pic I took of the scenery while a pilot was explaining my dad how to fly a plane. I was pretty happy with this photo. We explored the area, and saw that there were dozens of planes.Pretty soon, we were allocated our own plane to fly as well. It was this one: After a long wait, we boarded the tiny plane. The insides were so small and cute. It was kind of congested, though, and it became difficult to breathe. Or perhaps, it was because I was so excited? This was a pic I took just as we were about to take off: And then, we finally took off! It was amazing! But my heart was thumping too, because...

Writing Tips for Young Authors - The outline

Being a writer is thrilling. Writing allows us to create a world of our own and slip into it ourselves while pulling others along with us as well. Children and teens, like me, have a bunch of ideas in their head and would like to show it to the world, but don't know where to start. Here are some tips from famous and some from myself plus some websites to help you out: Getting Started: Know the type of story you're going for - fiction or non-fiction. If you choose fiction, whether it is a comedy, adventure, mystery, etc. Be thorough with grammar and always keep a dictionary and a thesaurus ready at hand. Have a writing book (preferably ruled) with enough pages. The story: Once you are ready with the above steps, make a flow chart. List out the following: The plot. I'll take the example of a mystery story whose plot is that a young boy finds himself in a magical world. Now think of the main problem: the boy must find his way back home. Add some side problems to ke...

The beauty of life

One of the most beautiful things about life, according to me is how it is totally in our hands. We can literally turn it around anytime we wish. We tend to stick to the same, old boring routine, but we forget that we can change it. It can be something small ~ like trying out a new style or chanding your diet~ or even something big~ like getting PhD or moving out of your old home and moving into a new city. It is literally in our hands to decide what todo and we forget that. Life is amazing we just need to know how to live it.

Looking for Alaska: Bookreview

Today I am going to review the book Looking for Alaska by John Green.  This book is personally my favorite John Green book and I would reccomend this book to everyone. This book is narrated by Miles Halter, the protagnist, who goes to boarding school 'to seek a Great Perhaps.' At school, he quickly befriends 'the Colonel', who is his roommate. He meets a bunch of new people, some of whom become his friends and the others... well not so much. Miles, or Pudge called by his friends, forms quite close relations with the Colonel, Takumi, Lara and the other protagnist of this book, Alaska. Alaska is a beguilging girl that is mysterious and catches Pudge's eye. The five have the time of their lives, together. Everything's going well until one day........... Alaska dies. This puts the four in quite a shock. Pudge begins to question who Alaska really was and how she died. The others follow Pudge in a shocking journey of who Alaska really was. This book is about find...

A Thought

Here's another thought- one of my all time favorites: "We believe in ordinary acts of bravery - in the courage that drives one person to stand up for another." For those of you who have read 'Divergent' must know that this is the Dauntless motto. For those, who haven't read the book, it's an excellent quote from an amazing book, 'Divergent.' As for the reason why I like this quote - It shows that being brave doesn't mean jumping in an ocean full of sharks to save a drowning child. Doing ordinary acts of bravery is just as brave. Moreover, the best kind of ordinary bravery is standing up for another. It requires courage, which not everyone has, but is something everyone can do. This quote proves anyone, even you or I can be brave. So, yeah. This is my favorite quote. Let me know yours down below in the comments.

Today's thought

Here is one of my favourite thoughts. Today's thought: 'Old friends are gold, new friends are diamond. To hold a diamond, you need a base of gold.' It means: Anyone who gets new friends shouldn't forget their old friends. Even though your new friends might be better, you won't be able to keep them if you cast your old friends aside.
