Writing Tips for Young Authors - The outline

Being a writer is thrilling. Writing allows us to create a world of our own and slip into it ourselves while pulling others along with us as well. Children and teens, like me, have a bunch of ideas in their head and would like to show it to the world, but don't know where to start. Here are some tips from famous and some from myself plus some websites to help you out:

Getting Started:

Know the type of story you're going for - fiction or non-fiction. If you choose fiction, whether it is a comedy, adventure, mystery, etc. Be thorough with grammar and always keep a dictionary and a thesaurus ready at hand. Have a writing book (preferably ruled) with enough pages.

The story:

Once you are ready with the above steps, make a flow chart. List out the following:
The plot. I'll take the example of a mystery story whose plot is that a young boy finds himself in a magical world.
Now think of the main problem: the boy must find his way back home.
Add some side problems to keep the story interesting. Let's say he finds his friends are also stuck there and he must find them before he returns home. Add a couple more.
Create a solution which is thrilling to read.
Plan out some details: The characters' personalities, a description of the place, etc.
Don't forget to include interesting characters that readers can sympathize with.

This is your outline. Next time, I will highlight some other tips too. Start off with these and never stope imagining. Write down all your ideas.
