Looking for Alaska: Bookreview
Today I am going to review the book Looking for Alaska by John Green. This book is personally my favorite John Green book and I would reccomend this book to everyone.
This book is narrated by Miles Halter, the protagnist, who goes to boarding school 'to seek a Great Perhaps.' At school, he quickly befriends 'the Colonel', who is his roommate. He meets a bunch of new people, some of whom become his friends and the others... well not so much. Miles, or Pudge called by his friends, forms quite close relations with the Colonel, Takumi, Lara and the other protagnist of this book, Alaska. Alaska is a beguilging girl that is mysterious and catches Pudge's eye. The five have the time of their lives, together. Everything's going well until one day........... Alaska dies.
This puts the four in quite a shock. Pudge begins to question who Alaska really was and how she died. The others follow Pudge in a shocking journey of who Alaska really was.
This book is about finding the reality of someone you knew and realizing you'll never know who that person really was. No matter how close you are to that person, you never know who that person really is. This book also shows that somethings in life are better left a mystery.
One of the reasons why I loved the book was that it raised a lot of thought- provoking questions. It asked you some questions that would leave you thinking why?
Looking for Alaska is an amazing read and is book you can hardly put down. I totally give it five stars.
Let me know what you think in the comments.
