Warning Stories: The Vicious Toys

I am starting a series of short stories called the Warning Stories. These stories are supposed to be like moral stories but a little scarier and with a warning at the end. Here is my first story which I call as
 The Vicious Toys.

The Vicious Toys
“Yay! Thanks mom and dad!” Arnav, the nine year old, exclaimed, dancing with his new Minnie Mouse figurine adding to his collection. He dashed off to his room and took all his toys off the shelf and started playing. He played late till night. When he was tucked into bed, then he had a thought,” What if my toys actually talked to me?”  He silently prayed,” O sri Krishna, please do some magic so that my toys talk to me.” He didn’t know about the shooting star which passed at the same moment he prayed. He fell asleep, content, and had a fantastic dream about his about to – be talking toys.
“Hey wake up. Wake up. I SAID WAKE UP!” “Huh?” Arnav asked groggily,” Mom, let me sleep, it’s Sunday,” falling asleep again. “Kid, you better wake up. I’m tired of telling you,” said a cold metal hand poking him. ”What do you want?” asked Arnav, irritated. He looked around but couldn’t see anyone. Then his eyes fell upon his transformers, crossing his hands and tapping his foot,” Come and play with us”, he said gesturing down. Arnav followed the figure’s hand till his eyes fell upon hordes of toys and figurines. When Arnav saw them they started shouting,” Play with us, yeah play with us!”
His eyes brightened and he followed them. He played a game and played till 10 am. When his mother started calling him for breakfast, he started to get up but his toys pushed him down,” Just 10 more minutes.” Arnav hesitated at first but finally said okay. Then after 10 minutes, he started to get up but his toys said,” Just 10 more minutes, please!” Arnav said okay. This repeated till 12 pm. Arnav finally said,” Okay guys, I’m really hungry. I’ll be back in half an hour.”
“No, you cannot leave,” the toys replied turning towards him with laser red eyes,” You must play with us.”
“But, I’m hungry! Please let me go!” Arnav protested.
But the toys wouldn’t listen. He was forced to play with them. He thought in his mind,” O god, please turn them normal.” Even his mother came when he didn’t come down till 3 ‘o’ clock.”Please Arnav come.”
The toys turned with laser red eyes and moved forward. Arnav’s mother screamed and Arnav woke up with wide eyes. His mother said that he was crying and begging while sleeping so she got scared and screamed.
Arnav‘s wish came true in his dream and he never forgot his wish and dream. He realized that being content with what one has is best.
WARNING – Be content with what you have, or else you’ll have to grieve later on.
